Summary Forest Gump

The film is about the autistic man named Forest Gump who sits on a bus station and tells several people, who are waiting on their bus, his story. It starts with his childhood when he met Jenny at the bus to school and how he started to walk and run without his leg braces. Then he tells about how he graduate, got excepted to the army and how his relationship with Jenny. He make new friends and honor one special friend "Bubba" by start working on a shrimp fishing boat. His life goes on and ends with a son, a wife and a death.

Eyewitness news - Forest Gump

I'm now standing here, talking to Forest Gump. You were in Vietnam as a soldier and did everything you could to protect South Vietnam from North Vietnam. Would you like to tell us about your amazing achievement when you run back during the attack just to save your group from being shot to death.

Well, first I did exactly like Jenny told me to. I run away. But I couldn't leave Bubba there to die. When I run back in to the forest I saw my friends lying down and I decided to save them. So I brought them to a safe place. 

But you were shot and you just kept running for your friends. How did you resist the pain?

I didn't have a choice, I had to do what I could to save my friends though som of them didn't want to. Unfortunately Bubba died anyway, it was him I wanted to save from the beginning. But I saved a lot of lives and I made friends who I sill have as friends today.

You really are a hero Forest. I wish that I had a friend like you, one who would risk their life for me. Thank you Forest for a great interview.

Book Circle W.7 Character tracer & creative connector

Character tracer:
I have chosen to trace Minnie Cooper. She is the journalist who wants to find and interview the ward/parish family. The book never say why she wants to find the family but I think that she just wants to get a good story for her magazine. The book never describe her, so I can't tell how she look or which kind of person she is according to the book. That makes it very hard to trace her. But I perceive her as a brave and stubborn person who loves her job as a reporter. An example from the book is in the end when the snowstorm approached, she could have turned but she continued to follow Glen though she was scared of him and she succeeded.

Creative connector:
I don't have a connection to the book. I've never reeded a book which is written off Robert Swindells. I have never experienced anything that happened in the book except maybe if you count seeing the news on television which is about murder or rape. Otherwise I don't have any connection at all.

English book circle - Summarizer w.4

The book has let us know that Dale's older brother Gavin or ”Gav” as he is called is a murderer and has murdered five women. The family has therefore been forced to change their identities and they have to move to the other side of the country to get away from all the pressure from the environment. In the new city, they have begun a new life but it’s not that simple. Dave needs to constantly think about what he says and what he does in order not to attract any attention. It has also tuned up a problem. Dave's new class is going on a school trip at the end of the semester to Haworth, where they lived before. This means big trouble, he can’t comply since there is a risk to be recognized. But he can neither stay because that would draw attention to himself. An unexpected friendship appears between Dave and one of the nerds ”Will”. He notices that there is a funny person behind all archeology. Since he beat up his classmate (Hawthorne) because Hawthorne and his mates have been getting on Dale. He lost his privileges at school.

English essay "My first concert"

On my 7th year old birthday my mom and dad took me and my little 2 year old brother to Liseberg in Gothenburg. It was a pretty cloudy day and it was about to rain though we went on merry-goes-around the whole day. After a very tasty dinner at  ”Lisebergs wärdshus” we went to the big scene and watched many performances. 

We watched ”Lotta på Liseberg” that is a TV show but this time there wasn’t any cameras around. We also watched stand up comedians and other artists.

I particularly remember a boy (who´s name I have forgotten) that sang a song that I liked very much! He had black hair, brown eyes, a nice cool shirt, blue jeans with holes in it and converse. He became my idol that day and I listened to all his music for the rest of the year. All his fans ran up to him, hoping to get an autograph, but unfortunately, I was too shy to ask or even tell my parents so I didn’t get one. In case I would have told my parents they would have taken me to him and I couldn’t risk that. 

That was my story about my very first concert.

English - Discussing about "the island"

For what reason do you think Doctor Merric’s decided to start the facility? What do you think ”The Island” is really saying about human cloning? Are you surprised by this in a Hollywood film?

I think that Doctor Merrick’s decided to start the facility to make money. They make clones so they can use the organs from the clone to help the famous persons to a healthier life and to live longer. The famous persons that want a clone for a safety pays a lot of money to the facility. It’s a lot of famous persons in Hollywood and a lot of rich people that want a clone means a lot of money. 

I think that the message from the movie is that everyone is the same, no one has the wright to make up a story and lie for those people even if they are clones. They have a life and deserves the wright to do what they want to and live by them selves. 

I also think that the want to say that some people can kill and do anything just for money.

I’m not surprised at all over that this happens to be in a Hollywood film. It feels like this cloud happen for real in Hollywood because of all the rich and famous persons and all of those people that could do anything for money.

What does Jordan mean when she says, ”The island is real . It’s us” What, if anything, is this saying about the human hope for some paradise or for heaven?

She means that the real luck with the life is to have someone/something they love. The Island is the place they want to go to, they want to find luck and you could never find more luck in any place than the luck in someone you really love. You and the person together is one, the ”home” and the family is the paradise. Everyone has a own picture of their paradise. Some people want a family, a great job and the hope for something is a dream that you can work for and make true.

Sonia: I figured out that he killed Lambourn because Pat didn’t want Frank in his block. They tried to talk it out but it became a bit violent and ended with that Lambourne died. And me, he wants to be Jarvis’s right hand so if he killed me he would be. 

Watts: Very smart, but you’re smarter.

Summarizer

The story is about Christopher Boone. He had never gone further than the end of the road but that one night when he saw his neighbour’s dog lay still in the garden with something sticking out of it's side, he was to curious to stay on the road. When he came up to the dog It looked like it was chasing a cat in it’s dream except that it wasn't moving. It was murdered. The dog just lay still with a garden fork sticking out of it's side. Christopher walked in to the garden and he took out the garden fork from the dog and lifted it up. Mrs. Shear came out screaming, she thought it was Christopher who had killed her dog. And when the police came Christopher could barely answer why he picked up the dog. The policeman asked over and over again why he picked up the dog and if it was he that killed the dog.  Christopher lay down on the ground while he listened to the police and tried to figure out a good answer. But when the police tried to lift Christopher up from the ground, and since Christopher didn’t like when people touched him, he hit the police.

I have nothing in common with the text. I have had a good childhood, good parents, it’s always food in the fridge and I have never hit someone on purpose. But I have heard and read about things that is quite similar with the text. I have been hungry but that is something that everyone has been sometime. I think that the text means that the father died and my gandfather died a few years ago so I know how the mother felt.

Val goes in sixth grade in Florida. She lives with her mom and grandmother, they moved from New York to Florida When they lived in New York Val’s grandmother used to rise up before the sun to make breakfast. Now days she just sleeps or watches television One day after school Val asked her grandmother if they could go to the beach. Even if Val’s grandmother was afraid of the water she said OK. Val left some of her chells so her grandmother could find them and start to like the beach and start to go outside again.

Next day in school Emma was scared. She didn't talk to anyone during the whole day. Emma wanted to know who sent the horrible messages. She went out and started to go home. 

Her phone vibrated in her pocket, it was a message...

Emma took her phone up and read the message.

"I see you"

- What do you want?! Emma shouted 

She turned around, looked everywhere  but didn't see anyone. Terrified Emma went home.

Emma sat on her bed and was looking at her phone. From no where she took it up and looked after the messages. Maybe she could answer the person.. 

"I don't know who you are, but I just want to know why you are so angry with me so you write that awful messages. Can we meet? " 

Emma was not sure about "can we meet?" but she sent it. 

It felt like she had been waiting for hours and  Emma was really tired on waiting, but now her phone vibrated. Emma took her phone up and opened the message. It was from "the" person.

"CAN WE MEET?!!, does it look like I want to meet you?

Emmas fear had disappeared, now she was really annoyed instead, she answered 

"No, but I still want to know why you are angry with me..

"When you hurt my friends you hurt me! Do NOT answer!"

Emma just starred at her phone. 

Next day when Emma went to school she found Simons old phone lying in the bushes. She put it in her bag and went to school. After school would emma call her mom and ask if she would buy something on the way home. Her mom sent a list of what Emma would shop.

"Buy: tomatoes,potatoes,chicken and cheese. Thank you honey!" 

Emma skickade "okay" tillbaka men råkade skicka det till "the" person! She become a bit nervous but the weird thing is that it said "pling" in the back of her bag. Emma took up Simons phone and looked at the new message.

"okay"

 Emma could not believe it, it was Siomon! But no it could not be him. Then Emma remembered, Simon had given his old mobile to his and Rachel's friend .. Jacob! It was Jacob that sent all those messages. Emma still had Jacobs number and she called it.

"Hello, it´s Jacob"

"Hi Jacob, it´s Emma"

"What do you want?"

"Nothing, I just want to tell you that I know that it was you that sent the messages. Don´t hung up! 
"Okay, okay.. It was me"
"But why?"
"WHY? You hurt both Simon and Rachel and me to"
"I know, and I'm sorry. I don't know what I'm suppose to do. Simon and Rachel refuse to answer  and you.."
"Yeah I'm sorry to, for the messages. I thought that if I hurt you so you would know what it feels like."
"It's okay, I understand. Friends?"
"Friends"
"But can you help me with Simon and Rachel?"
"yeah"

All of them all became friends again and talked to each other when something was wrong.

Mark was early to their date. He came almost 10 minutes early than they had decided. There did she come, she was more beautiful than ever. Her dance clothes was perfect for her and Marks legs became weak. When they have said hello they went in to the bar.

Both of them wanted a table by the window so they took the table for two. 

Mark was very excited, he took the cheer out for her and they took a seat. 

When the server came Jessica said that she wanted orange juice and Mark wanted a banana smoothie.

They started to talk, first about her dance lessons and then the conversation just continued. 

Jessica looked at the clock and said that she had to go. Mark said that he could pay for the drinks.

They went out and she gave Mark a hug and he got more exited than ever. She turned around and walked away. Mark was very happy, the date had gone really well. Next time they meet it will go even better.
